I love bear nights. I feel just like a fag hag when I go to one of them. As a slim and smooth Asian city boy, there is no way in hell that any of them would be interested in a guy like me so I’m free to talk to all of them with absolute abandon and grind all over them, making inappropriate comments just for fun as I make my way through the dance floor.
Bear nights are the best nights I have because they’re so friendly and I don’t have to worry about creepy men going for or groping me. It really was just a fun night. I’m more guarded at other gay bars, not wanting to send the wrong message and there’s always that awkward, unwanted eye contact but at bear nights it is a completely comfortable affair. Life seems to be accompanied by a constant soreness nowadays. I don’t think its a bad thing. I am quite fond of this feeling. In 2007 I voted in Kevin Rudd. Kevin 07, it was time for a change. This year, I voted below the line. My preferences went to the Greens, the Labor party and the Australian Sex Party. My dad’s a Labor man and my mum voted for the Greens. We don’t talk politics at the dinner table so it was nice when I found out that we had voted similarly.
See how in the polling booths it says, “your vote is a valuable thing?” Well, when I proceeded to stick my bits of paper in the boxes, there was a lady there who greeted me with a cardboard tube. As I put my ballot paper in, she promptly used the cardboard tube to stuff and compact all the “valuable things” in.
